Starting therapy can feel overwhelming, and it’s natural to have questions. We’ve answered some common questions below to help you feel more informed and comfortable about the process.

  • The first session is a chance for your therapist to better understand what has been bringing you to therapy, your current symptoms, relevant history, and what you are hoping to work toward. Together, you will begin creating a collaborative treatment plan.

  • Session frequency is collaborative and depends on your goals, symptoms, and availability. Many clients begin with weekly or biweekly sessions.

  • Many extended health benefit plans cover services provided by Registered Psychotherapists. We recommend checking with your insurance provider to confirm coverage.

  • Our current fees are:

    • Complimentary 15-minute consultation
    • Individual Psychotherapy (50 minutes): $180
    • Individual Psychotherapy (75 minutes): $270

    Psychotherapy services provided by Registered Psychotherapists (Qualifying) are covered by many extended health benefit plans. Please contact your insurance provider to confirm your specific coverage.

    We understand that starting therapy can feel vulnerable, and we aim to create a space that feels collaborative, compassionate, and nonjudgmental from the very beginning.

  • We do not currently offer direct billing. Payment is due at the time of service, and a receipt will be provided that can be submitted to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

  • We understand that unexpected situations and scheduling conflicts can arise. We kindly ask for at least 48 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling requests. Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice, as well as missed appointments, may be subject to the full session fee.

  • Exposure and Response Prevention, or ERP, is an evidence-based treatment for OCD and anxiety-related concerns. ERP involves gradually facing feared situations, thoughts, or sensations while reducing compulsions, avoidance, and reassurance-seeking.

  • Yes — virtual therapy is considered an effective and evidence-based form of psychotherapy for many concerns, including anxiety, OCD, panic, stress, and depression. Many clients find virtual therapy to be convenient, accessible, and comfortable, allowing them to engage in therapy from their own space.

    We use a secure and confidential virtual platform that is compliant with privacy and confidentiality standards in Ontario. If you have questions or concerns about virtual therapy, we are always happy to discuss them with you.
